Rickman Castle's Front

Blocking on the front has begun, and Tim has built a smaller tower on the right side of the house.

Tim is building the frame work for the battlements.

The battlements are not finished, but we do have them across the front of the house.

Tim and his father are figuring out the best way to get the cupola on the roof. It started storming, but between Tim his Mom & Dad and myself we got it on the small roof then tied it off for the night.

See you never know around here if you visit we might put you to work, lol. My brother Steve is helping with the winch.

Tim and our son Josh help to push the cupola to the top over the shingles. Then Tim sends Josh to the lower level to stand by to try to catch him if the rope breaks before the final movement into place.

We changed the battlements on the front of the castle with cypress siding to match the door in the tower and the siding on back of the tower. Hmm, looks like Halloween.

Above is a new picture of the front of our home. Notice we have removed the cupolas, and we do not plan to replace them. We were hoping to place a metal roof on our home, but had to go with shingles instead due to cost. We have put in new windows. Notice something missing from the front yard? Yes, this last summer was so hot and dry we lost our dogwood trees. We also extended my flower bed down the whole front of the tower.

Tim is extending the castle look on down to the shop, cap stones and a couple small statues have been added.
