Edwina's Journey
Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass
May 04, 2009

My niece gave me a new hair style. Jan. 09

My decision to have weight loss surgery took many years and a lot of research. It was not a choice that I made lightly with having several health problems and being a heart patient. Finally, I decided that if this would help me get part of my health back, I would do it.

In my mind I knew that Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity in Nashville, Tennessee was a place I felt confident about going to and I was so correct. I cannot say enough about how well and respectfully they treated me.

The surgeon I choose was Dr. Hugh L. Houston. Dr. Houston is a person that will speak very much to the point, and will not sugar coat things. He is a skillful surgeon, and cares about his patients. My experience with him has truly changed my life in a very short amount of time. His office staff is friendly, helpful and supporting.

The gastric by-pass was the right choice for me. Would I do it again? The answer is yes! I now wonder why it took me so long. I will be posting new pictures and things soon, so check back and watch my journey!
